About Me

I am a wife and a mother to three beautiful kids. I love to cook, bake and help people! Our first daughter was born happy and healthy, but when our second child was born I knew right away something was off with her skin. We noticed it was always bumpy and rough but our doctors kept referring to it as baby acne and we went along with that explanation. We continued to see rashes or changes in her skin that we didn’t understand. This started the researching into eczema & food allergies but little did we know we were walking into a whole new world of unknown. When she was 6 months they had confirmed what we had already suspected, that she had eczema. Our feeling was that it was more than just eczema. We started monitoring and noticing a trend in her breakouts. Every time I ate eggs or my husband had peanuts she would breakout into hives.

Even at that moment, me being a nurse, the idea that my child might be allergic to something didn’t fully register or sink in. Next thing you know we are getting her allergy tested and find out she is allergic to eggs, milk, tree nuts, peanuts, coconut, and more. Our world had turned upside down, not knowing that there was a whole world full of allergy friendly stuff, all I couldn’t think of was what my kid is going to be missing out on. It broke my heart to realize she can’t go to birthday parties and enjoy a cake, she can’t eat at restaurants, she can’t be just a normal kid.

Next came a very shocking realization when I found out that few of my other friends had kids around the same age with eczema and developed food allergies. There were so many people out there with similar condition and that this has turned into an epidemic. I was even more sure of it when I had my 3rd child who too had eczema and I was running out of solutions on what to do to make sure he too doesn’t get any food allergies. It came to light that in the past decade more and more companies have been coming out with allergy friendly food because there has been a sudden increase in kids with allergies. Every day my friend and I would exchange allergy friendly version of recipes and products we found in the store. I always wanted a way to share what I was learning and thought of a number of ways of doing so. With a little extra motivation from my friend, I set out to start this blog.

I want to use this site to share the story of my kids, how I am coping with these new challenges, some allergy friendly recipes, and conventional/unconventional solutions to dealing with eczema.

I am an EczeMOM. I want to build a community for moms who can not only get inspired by the solutions that worked for me, but also inspire the rest of us by sharing their experiences. On my channel you will find recipes I love and the allergy friendly versions of them for my kids. I have so much information to share that I wish I knew when I was pregnant, including some preventative approaches and more. I truly believe that we are so much stronger when we come together to share our challenges and solutions and that we can be proud EzceMOMs together!
